Sara has been sick with a fever since Monday night. Lance and Luke were at Cub Scouts and the girls and I were just hanging at the house. We had been playing and I noticed Sara laying on the couch covered up in a blanket. That's not normal. I felt her and she felt warm so I got the thermometer out and she had a fever. Nothing major. Just 99.something. Lance said you really can't even call that a temp. But then at 6:30 am she came into our room feeling like she was going to throw up. She didn't really, but she felt awful. So she stayed home from school. And every day since, she's run a temp in the morning, feels fine during the day, then runs a fever again at night.
Today, Hope and Emma had "school" so it was Sara and I out on the town. :) I had several errands to run and lunch planned with a friend. We had the best day! It's so much fun to be able to spend one on one time with each of the kids. And that time is hard to come by. So when it happens unexpectedly, it's a blessing.
Sara is such a mature little girl. It's like hanging out with a friend. I like asking her opinion on things to buy. Today, Hobby Lobby had all their Christmas stuff 90% off! That's like giving it away! We had fun picking out Christmas decorations and gifts for next year. And we went to Target to buy some shirts for Emma. She REALLY enjoyed that! She LOVES fashion! Ha!
I hate that she's sick (thank goodness nothing too bad), but it really was a great time with her, so I'll take it!

I loved reading about your special time with your daughter. I have an 8 year old daughter, and your post has inspired me to plan a "date" for her and I soon. I think time alone with each child is so important. Thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteI think Sara is one of the prettiest, sweetest, and gentlest girls I know! She is just precious!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until my girls get a bit older. Ashlyn is starting to be my little buddy, but I know it's only going to get better when they are older!
